How to apply Singapore Visit Visa Guide step by step

If you're planning a trip to Singapore, one of the first things you need is a visit visa. Here's a simple, step by-step guide to help you apply for it.

This blog is specifically written for first time Indian travelers who are new to Singapore and may not have any personal connections there. It’s designed to provide clear and helpful guidance to make your journey smooth and stress free.

Documents Required

1. Passport: Your passport must have at least six months of validity from your date of entry into Singapore.

2. Passport-Sized Photo: Provide a recent photo with a matte finish and a white background. Ensure it is clear and meets the requirements.

3. Bank Statement: Submit the last six months of your bank statement showing a balance of at least ₹50,000 INR

4. Hotel Booking Receipt: Book a hotel or hostel based on your budget using platforms like Booking.com. Keep the receipt as proof of accommodation.

5. Flight Tickets (Two-Way): Book round-trip tickets. It’s recommended to choose flexible tickets so you can change the dates if necessary.

6. Visa Application Form (Form 14A) you can download from here 👆 or Download this form Singapore’s immigration website or collect it from your travel agent.

Visa Application Process

1. Choose Your Mode of Application

Through an Authorized Travel Agent nearby your place: ( Refer here )
Submit all required documents to the agent. They will handle the visa application process on your behalf.

2. Pay the Visa Fee

Visa application charge: $30 SGD (1800 INR approximately, may defer up to 5000 INR based on the travel agency)  (non-refundable).

3. Processing Time

Normal processing: 3 working days.

Sometimes, it may take up to a week, depending on the volume of applications.

4.Visa Validity and Extension Details

1. Initial Visa Validity
Once your visa is approved, it allows you to stay in Singapore for one month from your date of entry. This period is strictly monitored by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

2. Extending Your Stay
If you wish to stay longer, you can request an extension for an additional month. However, there are specific guidelines you must follow:

Timing is Crucial: You can only apply for an extension 14 days before your visa expires.however I suggest 3 days before enough.Applying too early will result in automatic rejection.( My personal experience)

How to Apply: Submit your extension request online via the ICA portal by your self no need to look for travel agency .(click here to access the application). Ensure all your information is accurate and your reasons for the extension are valid.

Approval Period: If everything is in order, the ICA will typically approve the extension for a maximum of one month or sometimes 20 days, depending on your circumstances.

3. Third Extension
If you need to extend your stay beyond the second month, you can make a third request. However, this is subject to the discretion of ICA officers.

The officers will assess your situation, and approval is not guaranteed.

Some travelers may get a third extension, while others may not, depending on the case and supporting reasons.

Important Tips:

Always provide genuine reasons for your extension and ensure your documents (such as proof of funds and accommodation) are up to date.

Avoid overstaying without permission, as this can lead to  affect future visa applications.

Common Reasons for Visa Rejection

Photo issues: Not clear, incorrect size, or wrong background.

Fake bookings: Hotel or flight bookings that are not genuine.

Incomplete documents: Missing or incorrect information.

If your visa is rejected, don't panic. Identify the reason for rejection, correct the issues, and reapply with another $30 fee.
